You bring us the relationship. We handle the match.
When someone you know needs real estate assistance, you don’t have to search for an agent yourself. Our brokerage leadership team—including Gonzalo Mejia, Maidelys Avila Medina, and Michael Leachman—will work to identify an appropriate real estate professional for the client’s location and needs.
1. Send Us the Referral
Tell us who needs help and where.
2. We Find the Right Agent
Our leadership team works through our Florida, national, and international network to place the referral.
3. Earn Your Referral Fee
When the transaction successfully closes, your referral fee is processed according to the referral agreement—and may be payable as early as closing when permitted.
Not Licensed Yet? Start Here.
You can pursue a Florida real estate license with the goal of building a referral business—even if you don’t plan to handle property sales yourself.
The process generally includes a 63-hour approved prelicensing course, an application and background screening, and passing the state exam. Before making compensated referrals, your license must be active under our brokerage.
We’ll help you understand the steps, find approved education options, and prepare to promote your referral business once licensed. Getting started requires both time and money, and earning income depends on referrals that lead to completed transactions.
Your Investment: Time and Money
To get licensed:
Budget for your prelicensing course, application, fingerprinting, and state exam. Costs vary by education provider and screening service. We’ll help you identify current options before you commit.
Your time commitment:
The required prelicensing course includes 63 hours of instruction. Allow additional time for studying, the application process, and your exam. After licensing, building relationships and following up on referral opportunities takes ongoing effort.
To join Tu Familia:
Our referral-only brokerage fee is $50 per year. No MLS membership or REALTOR® association dues are required for this role.
Is a Referral Business Right for You?
This may be a good fit if people trust your recommendations, you enjoy making useful introductions, and you’re willing to stay connected and follow through. Your network might come from work, hobbies, community activities, or everyday relationships.
You don’t need a huge following or an outgoing personality. Listening well, recognizing when someone needs help, and making thoughtful connections matter more.
You’ll need to maintain your license, complete required education, and follow our brokerage’s referral and advertising procedures. All real estate referrals made through this program must be processed through Tu Familia Real Estate.
Could This Be Your Next Income Opportunity?
Tell us where you are in the licensing process and what you hope to accomplish. We’ll walk you through the costs, requirements, and support available so you can decide whether a referral business fits your goals.
